Ridesharing: Going Home & Great Escapes

Ridesharing … realtime, dynamic, ad hoc, may develop into something more lasting. Rideboards connect you with fellow travelers who are looking for or offering rides. Here are three rideboards for you to check out.

Carma. If you have an iPhone or Android smartphone and are looking for realtime ridesharing, consider getting a free Carma app. You’ll find information about the app on the Carma website/blog here. View a Carma video introduction here.

Craigslist Rideboard. Craigslist has quite possibly the most dynamic rideboard in town. Rideboard regulars provide some personal information with their travel requests.

Zimride. Zimride is another resource for finding potential rideshare partners. Sign up with your UCSB email address and connect with other Zimride members. Link to the Zimride UCSB website here.

COMMUTE AND SHARE THE RIDE! Post your daily commute on Zimride this summer and find others who can share the costs. It's free and easy to post.

A word of caution. Please be advised that rideshare matching services are not affiliated with UC Santa Barbara. Participants are solely responsible for determining whether or when it is appropriate to meet with or share personal information with potential ridesharing partners.
