The 22 IVA Lot 22 Isla Vista Access permit allows Isla Vista residents to park in 22 Parking. The permit does not restrict the ability to move freely a vehicle in and out of the parking structure.
Who is eligible
Isla Vista Community members as well as UCSB staff, faculty, and non-resident students are eligible to purchase the 22 IVA permit. The program accommodates up to 75 automobiles and motorcycles. We regret we cannot accommodate trailers, RVs, or other types of oversized vehicles. Parking permits are granted for the purpose of transportation to and from campus.
Where to park
A 22 IVA permit entitles you to park on the upper levels of 22 Parking. Please observe signage on individual spaces, as restrictions sometimes apply. For example, the permit does not allow you to park in Coastal Access spaces on weekdays, Monday–Friday 7:30AM–5:00PM.
Monday–Friday from 5:00PM to 7:30AM and all day Saturday and Sunday, the permit allows you to park in lots and spaces allocated to visitors and students, and those allocated to faculty and staff. Thus the 22 IVA permit becomes equivalent to a Night & Weekend permit. As always, take care not to park in spaces marked “At All Times”, or where other restrictions apply.
The 22 IVA permit is NEVER valid in Lots 1, 2, 11, 19, 24 or the UCSB owned off campus housing units (Santa Ynez, San Clemente, El Dorado/Westwinds, Westgate, West Campus, Storke Family Housing, Santa Catalina, or Sierra Madre).
How to apply
- Receive an email confirmation of your order. Contact Parking Services if you do not receive a confirmation. Failure to receive a confirmation most likely indicates that we do not have your correct email address.
- Receive an email (typically within two business days) advising you whether or not your order was approved, and how to go back online to complete the order.
- Receive instructions for printing a temporary permit. A long-term permit will be mailed to the address listed on your application.
The 22 IVA permit is also sold at our Parking Services office. Please visit us during regular business hours.
When to renew
The annual permit expires on June 30. Please note that renewal is not automatic. To maintain parking privileges, log into your online account and apply for a new permit before June 30.
Price and payment options
- An 22IVA permit costs $900.00 per year (July–June).
The cost of the annual permit is prorated if you purchase after the start of the fiscal year.
Payment may be made by cash, check, or credit card. Career faculty and staff may choose to pay by pre-tax payroll deduction. Payroll deduction is terminated when the permit expires, or is returned to Parking Services. Click here to learn more about our Payroll Deduction policy.
Permit returns and refunds
Annual permits that are not being used must be returned to Parking Services to qualify for a refund. See here for more information about our permit return policy.
