UCSB Transportation Services helps support the University mission by providing a fleet of safe and reliable vehicles, a garage for the maintenance and repair of the fleet as well as a gasoline fueling station. Included in the fleet are vehicles for our Police department, campus housing and maintenance vehicles, vehicles for travel to meetings, events and conferences, and vehicles for use by academic departments such as Earth Sciences, Marine Science Institute, etc.
UCSB is committed to providing a sustainable transportation future. Approximately 40% of University vehicles are alternative fuel vehicles. Our goal is for at least 95% of light-duty vehicles purchased in the future to be alternative fueled as well. Vehicle types will include slow-speed electric (NEV), full-electric, plug-in hybrid, E-85 (Flex-fuel) and CNG.
We offer a variety of fleet vehicles for daily/short-term rental, long-term rental (assigned), as well as vehicles from off-campus vendors such as Hertz and Enterprise.
Our professional, well-trained staff (several of which have been ASE-certified for more than 25 years) maintains the fleet to the highest possible standards for safety and reliability.
Convenient on-campus unleaded fueling is available 24/7 (requires access card after-hours). Voyager fuel credit cards are also available when traveling off campus.
