The UCSB Vanpool Program currently serves commuters from Santa Maria, Buellton, Santa Ynez, Solvang, Lompoc and Ventura. Pick-up and departure locations are determined by the participants of each individual van. Changes to the regular pick-up and departure locations or schedule get communicated by the van participants to the Vanpool Coordinator so the brochure may later be updated.

Schedules are determined by the participants of each individual van. Departure/arrival times are subject to traffic and roadway conditions and are not guaranteed.

Those who begin their subscription between the 1st and 15th of the month pay the full month's-fare.
Those who begin their subscription between the 16th and the end of the month pay half a month's-fare.
MONTHLY VANPOOL BASE-FARES*
Mon/Wed/Fri (= 60%)
Tues/Thurs (= 40%)
* The Base Fare changes if the van is undersubscribed or if the vehicle being operated is smaller than an 11-passenger vehicle.
Cost-Saving Payment Options
UCSB faculty and staff on UCSB payroll at least 45% and at least 4 months into the future may elect to enroll in a pre-tax payroll deduction* program. Discounted fares are available for active vanpool drivers.
*Under IRS Section 132a qualified transportation expenses include payments for the use of mass transportation and vanpool. The maximum pre-tax payroll deduction is $280 per calendar month for the 2022 tax year.
